Qualified
Remodeler
February 2003
Although we've appeared
in a number of industry magazines over the years,
we're particularly pleased to be on the cover
of this month's Qualified Remodeler in an article
that highlights the use of the Web in the home
construction industry.
According to Qualified Remodeler, most firms
in our business find that Web sites drive little
in the way of sales. We, on the other hand, get
about half of our business through our Web site.
Since you're reading this on the Internet, you
are probably among those who found us this way.
As the article
makes clear, the biggest way the site helps
us is by giving you, the customer,
information you need before we even meet. Many
other Web sites just put out the basics. On ours,
as the article notes, "potential clients
can find a wealth of information about the company,
including detailed information about the way
the company works, a portfolio, awards it's won
and press coverage it has received."
Qualified Remodeler
also highlights our password-protected pages,
where we go into contracting details,
provide personal references, document our insurance
coverage and multi-state licenses and provide
other kinds of helpful references. If you haven't
investigated this section (see Refs & Awards),
call us or drop us an e-mail to get a password.
Being in Washington, D.C., we find that a lot
of our customers are moving here for the first
time and use the Web to locate a good remodeling
firm to help them settle in. We've even found
that a lot of contacts come from overseas --
including people looking for work in our business!
In fact, two of our best designers found us on
the net, one from Argentina and one from Germany.
In the months ahead we're planning an upgrade
to the site to give it a fresh look and include
even more information. As always, we seek to
serve you, our customers, with content you can
use -- not meaningless fluff. So let us know
how we can make our site even more useful and
practical. Our best clients are our long-term
clients, and we want to provide service even
after the punch list is complete. The Web is
a good way to stay in touch.
