The renovated kitchen has a bright and airy look,
complemented by the natural wood floors.

By contrast, the original kitchen was darker, with
an old vinyl floor that obscured the attractive floor
beneath.

Warmer coloring makes
for a warmer and more inviting room.

GRAND
AWARD
This job was for a prominent
Washington couple that wanted to make an average apartment
kitchen into a more joyful and inviting space.
The clients’ requirements & needs
were:
1) Tight
time frame. Due
to the customer’s wife’s
serious health considerations we worked efficiently
to complete this project in four weeks, instead of
what would usually take five to six weeks.
2) Lighting was
a primary consideration. Ten carefully positioned
recessed
lights on a 1000-watt dimmer replaced
one florescent ceiling light source. 700 watts of low
voltage under-cabinet lighting was installed to thoroughly
illuminate counter spaces. In-cabinet lights were fitted
in two large glass cabinets to add cheer and accentuate
fine glass-wear.
3) High-gloss,
white shaker-style cabinets were selected along with
a white tile backsplash, white bedboard
under the windows, and Giallo Antico stone counters
and flooring to recreate a specific look the
owners had admired in a kitchen design magazine.
