A focus on quality craftsmanship and competitive pricing has fueled Wellborn’s growth. Over the last 50+ years of manufacturing cabinetry in Ashland, Alabama, Wellborn has developed a vertically integrated enterprise. The company owns the forests that supply Oak, Hickory, Poplar and Maple (Cherry is sourced from the North because it does not grow well in the South). They own the mills to transform the trees into furniture grade lumber. Their 1.8 million square foot factory turns the raw materials into cabinetry. These economies of scale facilitate a high level of quality control and enable their product to be produced and sold at a highly cost competitive price point within a streamlined time frame. From order to job site delivery is an unusually short period of about three to four weeks.

Home Concepts – “Durable” An inexpensive “builder grade” line of cabinetry.
Select – “Good” 37 door styles, 7 wood species/laminate and thermofoil options, 32 finish options, solid wood face frame, laminated fiberboard box construction, options for solid wood drawers and full extension soft close slides. Five year warranty.
Premier – “Better” 34 door styles, 7 wood species/thermofoil options, solid wood face frame, laminated fiberboard construction with option for plywood box construction, solid wood drawers with dovetail construction, option for full extension soft close slides. Limited lifetime warranty.
Estate – “Best” Customizable, higher quality finish with more options, available with inset door construction along with full overlay and , solid wood face frame, plywood box construction, solid wood drawers with dovetail construction, full extension soft closet slides. Limited lifetime warranty.
The cabinetry has many options and features many quality touches including:
- Up to 34 door style options, depending upon cabinetry line.
- 7 available “wood species” (Cherry, Character Cherry, Maple, Character Maple, Oak, Hickory, Thermofoil).
- A 24 step cabinet finishing system.
- Up to 61 finishes, including various stains, paints, paints with glazes, and vintage techniques.
- Solid wood face frame to match the solid wood doors.
- Doors are available in quarter overlay and full overlay. Inset and beaded inset are available in the Estate line.

Wellborn is a member of the Kitchen Manufacturers Association (KCMA) and is a participant in KCMA’s Green Choice Environmental Stewardship Program. Wellborn uses scrap wood and sawdust from their manufacturing operation to generate power and steam for their operations. They are always improving on the VOC emissions.
