The homeowners purchased this brick home with the goal of an addition and renovation to modernize and make it work better for their family. The existing maze-like first floor had three bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a bathroom. The homeowners opted for a full reconfiguration of the first floor as the family living area and to add square footage with a full second-story addition for the bedrooms.

The homeowners wanted a first-level bedroom suite for when their parents visit. The guest bathroom also serves as a powder room (one door from the hall, one from the guest bedroom). The first-floor bedroom/bathroom is in the original kitchen space.

The generous primary bathroom has a double vanity and a large shower. The primary bath has several different tile patterns and textures that add interest to a soothing sand color palette. The client’s children also had bathrooms created for them, with the daughter having a bathroom en-suite and the son having a hall bath.
