A one-story rear addition allowed us to create a kitchen and sitting area with access to a new deck on one side and a fenced patio on the other side. We matched the 1926 home’s existing stucco on the addition’s exterior.
Three walls of windows and full light side doors fill the kitchen and sitting area with natural light. The kitchen features a large island, glass doors, a paneled refrigerator, and a bar with wine racks, and a small sink. Open shelving at the end of the island and in the corner provides storage for cookbooks or displaying collectibles. The kitchen/sitting area has radiant heat under the medium-tone hardwood floors.
We also renovated the primary bathroom, replacing the existing tub with a large shower that has bench seating, and updating to an open double vanity. There is also radiant heat under the tile in the primary bath.
The rich-toned decking is Brazilian tigerwood. We also reconfigured the parking pad that leads to the garage.
