This is a new kitchen we designed and built in a 1950’s two-story townhouse. It is part of a whole-house remodel where we transformed a two-story townhouse into a three-story home by building a two-level addition at the rear. Work also included remodeling the home’s existing interior, all within the confines and oversight of the Capitol Hill Historic District.
Adding onto the back of the house allowed us to create an open kitchen with access to the rear patio through large sliding doors. The kitchen is open to the adjacent dining and living rooms. The design allows for easy flow for entertaining.
The project won a NARI CotY Metro Award in 2011.
