Andrew Kerr

Andrew Kerr has been with Landis since 2001. Prior to joining the company, Andrew held a position as a PM at Centex Homes, managing construction for new homes, and he also worked at the White House for the National Security Council. In addition to his work experience, he also holds both an MBA and MIM with a specialty in Operations Management from the Thunderbird School of Management at Arizona State University. As our COO Andrew oversees our Architecture, Estimating, Construction, and Process Management Departments. In his free time, Andrew enjoys playing basketball and pickleball and spending time with his family.

Ethan Landis

Ethan Landis has been passionate about our design/build company since starting it in 1990. He loves the business side and building the company, finding and hiring and motivating great employees, as well as working with customers to make their homes fabulous.
He previously sat on the District’s Construction Code Coordinating Board, helping the city establish green construction codes. He and his firm have received two Mayor’s Sustainability Awards for their leadership. He served two terms (9 years) on the Mayor’s Green Building Advisory Board that helps oversee DC’s Green Building Act. He is a member of the Rock Creek Conservancy board and enjoys hiking the trails in Rock Creek Park.
Ethan and his wife Jude, with their dog Duke, live in the Crestwood neighborhood of Northwest DC. He has two grown sons, one of whom is planning to join Landis. He and his wife love spending time at their “family farm” in central Vermont.

Matt Dirksen, AIA

Matt is a licensed architect in Maryland and has a BS-Architecture from the University of Maryland, as well as a master’s degree from San Francisco Institute of Architecture, a school that specializes in green architecture and ecological design. Matt spent his first 10 years out of high school gaining experience in commercial construction, architecture, and engineering. For the next few years, Matt worked in an architecture firm specializing in commercial, multi-family, and high-end residential work. Since 2003, Matt has worked exclusively in residential design-build. He brings a rich blend of excitement, simplicity and pragmatism to every project he oversees. Matt and his family live in Greenbelt. He’s served on Greenbelt’s Advisory Committee for Environmental Sustainability since 2008. He is an Eagle Scout and volunteers for Scouts BSA Troop 214 in Riverdale for his son and two daughters.

Michael Gotthelf

Michael provides cost estimates for our sales and design team—several times during the process from initial consultation, through schematic design and into formal construction documents. He’s a 15-year seasoned veteran at Landis. He’s a graduate of Kenyon College with a degree in English. Michael is an avid cyclist and often bikes to work.
