Jae was born and raised in Seoul, Korea, and immigrated to America with his family when he started college. Before working at Landis, Jae worked for a restoration company until one day he learned about Landis from a friend in his ESL class and decided to apply!
Jae loves basketball, but these days in his free time he enjoys less physically strenuous activities like spending time with his son, daughter, and two dogs.
Carter joined our production department in August 2021. He enjoys helping our team find solutions to problems, usually involving computers. He was born and raised in Northern Virginia, attended JMU and spent a year in California before returning to this area. His past work includes working as a data analyst, but ask him about his experiences as a door-to-door sales for a construction company and bartending at a winery! He enjoys tennis, playing piano and spending time with family and friends. He lives in lively Adams Morgan where there’s always live music or dancing down the street.
Juan joined Landis in April 2021 looking to grow more in his career. He has always worked in residential construction, with early training including installing drywall, painting, and appliance installation. He enjoys cabinetry installation and trim work. Juan likes his Silver Spring Four Corners neighborhood because it is quiet, and the neighbors are friendly. He spends his leisure time biking in the park with this 19-year-old son or visiting family.
Jess joined Landis in March 2021 to help with our transition to CoConstruct project scheduling software. She is from Colorado and grew up in the business with both her father and grandfather working as general contractors. She was running a framing crew right out of high school and decided to make a career in construction after college, including running a construction company that built ultra-custom homes. She enjoys educating friends about how to take care of their homes, as well as woodworking, traveling, tennis, and walking her dogs Oakley and Breck.
