Roof Deck for Penthouse Condominium

Description

The owners of this two-story penthouse condominium in Kalorama wanted to update their existing roof deck to make it a more beautiful and elegant outdoor living space. We installed new concrete pavers to expand the original deck space, installed a galvanized steel railing, designed and installed a privacy screen, and installed a custom guard around the chimney that can be removed for maintenance.

BEFORE – The roof deck did not have a railing, which made it dangerous to use.

We could not pierce the roof of the condominium  building to install pavers, and other contractors the clients spoke to said the project was not possible. We researched and found a way to install the pavers on pedastals. We expanded the existing paver area to create a much larger deck.

This guard covers and protects the unsightly chimney and can be removed for maintenance.

We used a crane to deliver the heavy pavers and metal railings to the roof.
