Explore 'Rear Addition on a Stately Stone House', a featured story from Landis Architects and Builders showcasing innovative projects and industry insights.

The owners purchased this stately 1931 stone house in the North Portal DC neighborhood with the goal of an addition and whole house renovation before they move in. We started the demolition in early September.

Demolition started with removing the deck

Interior demolition of the existing addition to the house. The stone wall could be seen in the existing kitchen and dining area.

Demolition included removing a pool.

Prepping the yard for the foundation of the addition.

Pre-built trusses were delivered to the jobsite. We used a crane to lift the trusses to form the roof of the addition.
